California Lawyers for the Arts is seeking to revive the Hunters Point Shipyard Artist Apprentices Program that was held in 2005-2007
They placed high school students as apprentices in artists' studios at the Shipyard for 5-10 hours per week for a period of 3 months. Students assisted the artists with art making, marketing, installations, and other tasks that supported the artists' needs and provided valuable skill building and training for the participants. Past Shipyard artist participants include Marc Ellen Hamel, Dolores Gray, Jane Woolverton, Marguerite T. Browne, and Alberto Ybarra.
Please fill out the questionnaire if you might be interested in participating in 2020. CLA staff will follow up with you.
